Thomas W. Dorr Governor of the State of Rhode Island:
Dear, Sir

Several military companies of this
city and vicinity having tendered their
services to us to form a military escort
to accompany you to Providence we
have the honor to apprise you of the fact.

This honor which they so much
desire we hope will meet with your
cheerful acceptance. Quarter Master Slamm
will await your reply.
